Articles
There is useful information here for the professional pilot as well as the new student. These articles tell you what to expect during all levels of pilot training. We provide the information necessary for a prospective student to make an informed decision. Informational articles as well as safety tips are provided by the FAA.

 Colleges & Universities
Here is a list of colleges and universities in the Southern California area that provide aviation related programs covering everything from Ground School to Flying Lessons to Cockpit Resource Management to Aeronautical Engineering.

 Scholarships
Yes!! There are organizations that offer scholarships specifically to help you get your ratings!! Scholarships are offered by flying clubs, aviation organizations, Uncle Sam, and other groups to learn to fly, and acquire ratings and certificates.

 Community Programs
Community aviation programs, such as the Civil Air Patrol, provide student and pilot alike an opportunity to work with and learn from aviation professionals, polish their aviation skills, and contribute to the community.

 Flying Clubs
Flying Clubs are a great way for a pilot to rent aircraft at a reasonable rate. Clubs also offer the student an inexpensive way to learn to fly with experienced FAA Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs). Most clubs also have a social agenda with aviation related events where you can meet other pilots and enjoy a little "hangar flying".

 Flight Schools
Privately owned and commercial flight schools offer flying lessons and aircraft rentals to student pilots as well as professional pilots. FAA certified flight schools operate according to FAA guidelines. These schools often can help the student obtain financial aid, and help with employment following graduation. Many schools can help international students in obtaining student visas.

 Ground Schools
Ground School is where you are taught the essential 'book learning' that is equired to fly an aircraft. This includes the principals of flight, aircraft systems, meteorology, navigation, physiology, and making safe decisions. A written test is required as part of the FAA examination process. Sample questions are available online at Kip's Test Page.
